BattleBuddies Community Guidelines
Operator: 13 Foxtrot, LLC d/b/a BattleBuddies
Platform: BattleBuddies app and BattleBuddiesDating.com
Effective date: October 5, 2026
These Community Guidelines explain the conduct expected from everyone using BattleBuddies. They are intended to protect members and support a respectful, military-focused dating community.
BattleBuddies is operated by 13 Foxtrot, LLC, an Ohio limited liability company. BattleBuddies is a private commercial service and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, authorized by, or endorsed by the United States Government, the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, or any branch or component of the U.S. Armed Forces.
1. Who May Use BattleBuddies
BattleBuddies is available only to people who:
- Are at least 18 years old; and
- Are residents of the United States; and
- Are active-duty service members, Reservists, National Guard members, or Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Immediate family members—including spouses, children, parents, and siblings—and all other civilians are not eligible to create matching profiles or use the Service.
BattleBuddies is not offered to users outside the United States. We may suspend or terminate an account that does not meet these requirements.
2. Verification and Eligibility
BattleBuddies uses verification processes to help confirm military eligibility and reduce fraud. Verification is limited, and no verification system is foolproof.
VerifyPass
VerifyPass is BattleBuddies’ primary verification method. VerifyPass results may confirm a user’s military affiliation for purposes of eligibility, but they do not independently confirm every detail of a user’s identity, rank, unit, component, decorations, service history, or current status.
.mil Email Verification
A .mil email address is an optional secondary verification method. It is never required to join BattleBuddies, and BattleBuddies does not encourage members to use an official military email address for personal or commercial accounts.
The .mil process is limited to a one-time confirmation of access to a .mil email domain:
- The .mil email address is used only for the one-time domain confirmation.
- The .mil address is never stored.
- BattleBuddies retains only a dated “verified via .mil” status flag.
- No messages are ever sent to a .mil email address, including marketing, match notifications, account messages, transactional emails, or any other communications.
- The check confirms domain access only—not identity, rank, unit, component, or length of service.
- By selecting this option, the user confirms that the address belongs to them and that they are authorized to use it.
- Users are responsible for complying with their own branch’s acceptable-use, email, and information-security policies.
Verification confirms military status only and is not a guarantee of identity, safety, or anyone's exact rank, unit, or service history.
VerifyPass or another form of proof may be requested at any time. Accounts that cannot be verified or that contain false or misleading information may be suspended or terminated.
Pending or Self-Report Badge
A “Pending” or self-report badge is not full verification. It indicates that the user has provided information that may require additional review. A Pending badge is not an independent confirmation of military affiliation or identity.
3. Content Rules
Members may not post, send, upload, or otherwise share content that violates these Guidelines or applicable law.
No Nudity or Explicit Sexual Content
Do not post or send:
- Nude or sexually explicit images;
- Graphic sexual content;
- Explicit videos;
- Sexual content involving minors;
- Sexual content shared without the subject’s consent; or
- Sexually explicit profile or message content intended to harass, pressure, or exploit another person.
Keep profile photos and conversations appropriate for a professional community platform.
No Graphic Violence or Disturbing Content
Do not post graphic violence, gore, torture, mutilation, or content intended primarily to shock, threaten, or disturb other members.
No Hate Speech
Do not dehumanize, threaten, or promote hatred against a person or group based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
No Illegal Content
Do not use BattleBuddies to distribute or promote content that violates federal, state, or local law.
4. Behavior Rules
No Harassment, Bullying, or Threats
Do not:
- Threaten, intimidate, or bully another member;
- Persistently contact someone who has asked you to stop;
- Stalk, doxx, or monitor another person;
- Coordinate harassment against a member;
- Publish private information without permission;
- Threaten to expose private conversations or images; or
- Use messages, photos, or profile information to control, frighten, shame, or harm another person.
“No” means no. Respect a member’s decision to end contact.
No Fake Profiles or Catfishing
Your profile must accurately represent you. Do not:
- Use another person’s photographs;
- Impersonate another person;
- Create an account using false identity information;
- Misrepresent your age, location, relationship status, or intentions; or
- Operate an account on behalf of another person.
Verification may help identify some fraudulent accounts, but it is not a guarantee of identity or safety. Members should use their own judgment and independently verify a match before meeting or sharing sensitive information.
No Military Misrepresentation
Do not falsely claim:
- Active-duty, Reservist, National Guard, or veteran status;
- A military branch or component;
- A rank, MOS, AFSC, rating, unit, duty station, or role;
- A deployment, assignment, decoration, or service history; or
- An affiliation with a military command or government organization.
Confirmed military impersonation or material misrepresentation may result in permanent account termination and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.
No Solicitation, Spam, or Commercial Activity
Do not use BattleBuddies for:
- Unsolicited advertising;
- Spam;
- Multi-level marketing;
- Business or investment promotion;
- Unapproved fundraising;
- Affiliate marketing;
- Links intended to collect personal information;
- Escort or adult-service offers; or
- Other commercial activity unrelated to genuine personal connection.
No Scams or Financial Manipulation
Do not request or pressure another member to provide:
- Money;
- Gift cards;
- Cryptocurrency;
- Wire transfers;
- Travel funds;
- Banking information;
- Login credentials; or
- Financial assistance of any kind.
Romance scams often involve rapid emotional attachment, pressure to move off-platform, excuses for avoiding video calls or in-person meetings, and urgent requests for money. Report suspected scams immediately.
No Underage Users
You must be at least 18 years old to use BattleBuddies. Do not attempt to contact, solicit, meet, or exchange sexual content with anyone under 18.
If you believe a minor is using the Service or being solicited, report it immediately. In an emergency, contact local law enforcement.
5. Prohibited Commercial Sexual Activity and Trafficking
BattleBuddies may not be used for:
- Prostitution;
- Escorting;
- Sexual solicitation;
- Commercial sexual services;
- Human trafficking;
- Sex trafficking;
- Recruiting or facilitating exploitation; or
- Any other commercial sexual activity.
A violation may result in immediate and permanent account termination. We may preserve relevant records, report conduct to law enforcement where legally required or permitted, and cooperate with lawful investigations involving trafficking, exploitation, or commercial sexual activity.
6. Military Integrity
BattleBuddies is intended for eligible service members, Reservists, National Guard members, and Veterans. Members must be truthful about their military affiliation and may not use the platform to exploit the trust associated with military service.
Do not:
- Claim military service you did not perform;
- Claim a rank, MOS, rating, unit, or military role you did not hold;
- Use photographs belonging to another service member;
- Misrepresent a deployment, assignment, or service record;
- Impersonate a service member, military unit, command, or official; or
- Claim to speak on behalf of the U.S. military, the Department of Defense, the National Guard Bureau, or any military organization.
Misrepresenting military service may violate applicable law, including 18 U.S.C. § 704. Confirmed violations may result in permanent account termination and may be referred to law enforcement.
7. UCMJ and Lawful Conduct
Members are responsible for ensuring that their use of BattleBuddies complies with applicable federal, state, and local law, the Uniform Code of Military Justice, service-branch rules, Department of Defense directives, National Guard Bureau policies, and command-specific requirements.
Do not use BattleBuddies for conduct that violates applicable law or military rules, including prohibited relationships, harassment, sexual misconduct, fraud, or other unlawful conduct.
BattleBuddies does not provide legal, military, command, or career advice. If you have questions about whether a relationship or interaction is permitted, consult your chain of command, JAG legal assistance office, or a licensed attorney.
BattleBuddies may cooperate with lawful requests from authorized Department of Defense investigative bodies and law-enforcement agencies. We may report conduct when legally required or legally permitted to do so. We do not promise to proactively investigate or report every allegation or every possible UCMJ violation.
Relevant investigative or legal bodies may include:
- Criminal Investigation Division (CID);
- Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS);
- Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI);
- Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS);
- National Guard Bureau or applicable state National Guard investigative authorities;
- Judge Advocate General (JAG) offices; and
- Civilian federal, state, or local law enforcement.
We may preserve and provide relevant records, communications, and other evidence in response to lawful requests or as otherwise required or permitted by law.
8. Privacy, OPSEC, and Sensitive Information
BattleBuddies is not a secure Department of Defense or government communications system. Do not share classified, operational, restricted, or highly sensitive military information.
Members must not:
- Share deployment dates or mission timelines;
- Disclose unit locations or sensitive duty information;
- Share operational plans or mission details;
- Post photographs showing restricted areas or sensitive equipment;
- Pressure another member to reveal deployment, unit, or mission information;
- Ask questions designed to extract sensitive military information; or
- Republish another member’s private messages, photos, or profile information without permission.
Respect the privacy of other members. Screenshots can be copied, forwarded, or used in investigations or legal proceedings. Do not assume that anything shared on the platform will remain private.
9. Location and OPSEC-Safe Search
BattleBuddies uses an OPSEC-conscious location design.
Members may manually enter a city, state, and/or ZIP code for matching and search. The location field is optional. If a member leaves it blank, location-based matching may be limited.
BattleBuddies:
- Does not use GPS;
- Does not request or use device-location permissions;
- Does not use geofencing;
- Does not track location in the background;
- Does not derive location from an IP address; and
- Does not automatically gather location information.
Coordinates may be generated from the location information a member manually enters solely to calculate approximate distance for matching. Members should avoid entering sensitive locations or information that could create an operational-security risk.
10. Military Career Risk Warning
Screenshots and Investigations
Messages, photos, and profile content may be screenshotted, forwarded, or used in military disciplinary proceedings, Department of Defense investigations, courts-martial, or civilian legal proceedings.
Nothing shared on BattleBuddies is guaranteed to remain private. Treat every message, photograph, and profile detail as potentially viewable by a command, investigator, court, or other authorized person.
Criminal and Career-Ending Conduct
Using BattleBuddies to pursue or facilitate relationships involving minors, non-consensual conduct, harassment, fraud, trafficking, or other unlawful activity may create serious criminal, civil, military, and career consequences.
Such conduct may result in account termination and referral to law enforcement where legally required or permitted. This warning applies equally to Active Duty members, Reservists, National Guard members, and Veterans.
Verify Before You Connect
Independently verify a match’s age, identity, relationship status, and other important information before pursuing a relationship. Avoid relationships that could create a perceived abuse of rank, position, authority, or supervisory power.
When in doubt, consult your chain of command, JAG legal assistance office, or a licensed attorney before engaging.
11. Rank, Branch, and Uniform Usage
User-Entered Information
Rank, branch, MOS, rating, unit, and similar profile information is user-entered and is not independently verified by BattleBuddies unless expressly stated otherwise.
Do not assume that another member’s claimed rank, branch, unit, or military history has been independently confirmed.
Personal Expression and Government Non-Endorsement
A member’s use of rank, unit names, branch insignia, military uniforms, or other military imagery represents that member’s personal expression. It does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, authorization, or official communication by:
- The United States Government;
- The Department of Defense;
- The Department of Veterans Affairs;
- Any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces;
- The National Guard Bureau;
- Any Reserve Component;
- Any military command, unit, or installation; or
- Any other government agency.
Impersonation Prohibited
The following conduct is prohibited and may result in immediate and permanent account termination:
- Claiming a rank, unit, MOS, AFSC, rating, or military role that you do not hold or have not held;
- Impersonating a service member, military unit, command, or official;
- Representing yourself as speaking for a military organization; or
- Using another person’s military identity, photos, or service information.
Uniform Photos and OPSEC
Members may upload uniform photographs, but should consider OPSEC risks. Uniform photographs may reveal:
- Unit patches;
- Name tapes;
- Rank insignia;
- Base or installation locations;
- Deployment context;
- Tactical equipment; or
- Other location or assignment information.
We recommend cropping or blurring unit patches, name tapes, and location-identifying backgrounds before uploading photographs. BattleBuddies may remove content that presents an apparent OPSEC or safety risk, with or without advance notice.
12. Enforcement
We use a graduated enforcement system based on the nature and severity of the conduct, the risk to members, and the member’s history. Enforcement decisions are made by human reviewers.
| Violation level | Examples | Possible consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Minor or first offense | Mildly inappropriate content, accidental spam, or a borderline profile item | Warning, content removal, or corrective instruction |
| Repeated or moderate | Continued harassment, repeated rule violations, or inappropriate content after warning | Temporary suspension, generally between 7 and 30 days |
| Severe | Catfishing, scams, serious harassment, solicitation, hate speech, or trafficking-related conduct | Permanent account termination and possible referral |
| Zero tolerance | Military impersonation, serious financial fraud, child sexual exploitation material, trafficking, or serious criminal conduct | Permanent termination and referral to appropriate authorities where legally required or permitted |
Permanent bans prohibit the creation of replacement accounts. Circumventing a suspension or ban may result in immediate termination of a new account.
We may also remove content, restrict features, request additional verification, or take other reasonable safety measures.
13. Reporting a Violation
Reporting helps protect the community. Members may report a profile, photograph, message, or other content for:
- Harassment or threats;
- Fraud or romance scams;
- Impersonation or military misrepresentation;
- Unwanted sexual content or abuse;
- Stalking, doxxing, or unsafe conduct;
- Underage activity;
- Trafficking or commercial sexual activity;
- Hate speech;
- Spam or solicitation;
- OPSEC concerns; or
- Any other violation of these Guidelines.

Review Process
Reports are generally reviewed within 24–48 hours, with urgent safety reports prioritized. The review process may include:
- Confirmation that the report was received;
- Review by a human member of the trust and safety team;
- Review of the reported profile, content, or account history;
- Appropriate action if a violation is confirmed; and
- Notice to the reporting member when the report has been resolved, where appropriate.
We may not disclose the details of an enforcement action because of privacy, safety, legal, or security considerations.
Reports are handled confidentially to the extent reasonably practicable. We do not intentionally identify a reporting member to the reported member. Retaliation against a reporting member is prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or termination.
14. Appeals
If you believe an account action was incorrect, you may appeal by emailing appeals@battlebuddiesdating.com within 30 days of the action.
Include:
- The email address associated with your account;
- The action being appealed;
- The date of the action; and
- A brief explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect.
We review appeals through human reviewers but cannot guarantee reinstatement.
Zero-tolerance actions involving military impersonation, serious financial fraud, child sexual exploitation material, trafficking, or similarly serious conduct may not be appealable.
15. Colorado Online Dating Services Safety Policy
BattleBuddies maintains a separate Safety Policy describing reporting procedures, safety resources, account actions, appeals, and related protections.
The Safety Policy is maintained in connection with applicable online-dating safety requirements, including the Colorado Online Dating Services Safety Act where applicable. Members should review the Safety Policy before using the Service.
