1. Purpose and Scope
BattleBuddies is designed for adults in the United States who want to connect with members of the military community. We recognize that harassment, fraud, impersonation, sexual misconduct, stalking, and other unsafe behavior can create serious personal, professional, military, and security risks.
This policy explains:
- Conduct and content that are prohibited;
- Whether and how BattleBuddies performs background screening;
- How military eligibility and identity-related information are handled;
- How members can report profiles, messages, or conduct;
- How reports are reviewed and acted upon;
- How accounts may be suspended or terminated;
- How members may appeal certain account actions; and
- Where members can find emergency, military, fraud, domestic-violence, and exploitation resources.
This policy supplements the BattleBuddies Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and Safe Dating Tips. If there is a conflict, the Terms & Conditions and applicable law control.
2. Eligibility and Service Availability
BattleBuddies is available only to individuals who:
- Are at least 18 years old;
- Are residents of the United States; and
- Are active-duty service members, Reservists, National Guard members, or Veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
Immediate family members and other civilians are not eligible to create matching profiles or use the Service. We may suspend or terminate an account that does not meet these requirements.
BattleBuddies is a private commercial service. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, authorized by, or endorsed by the United States Government, the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Guard Bureau, or any branch or component of the U.S. Armed Forces.
3. Prohibited Conduct and Content
Members may not use the Service to engage in, facilitate, promote, or threaten any unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, exploitative, or unsafe conduct.
Prohibited conduct includes:
Harassment and Bullying
Members may not threaten, intimidate, bully, stalk, repeatedly contact, or target another person after being asked to stop. Coordinated harassment, doxxing, blackmail, and threats of retaliation are prohibited.
Fraud and Scams
Members may not engage in romance scams, financial manipulation, phishing, identity theft, requests for money or gift cards, wire-transfer schemes, cryptocurrency schemes, or other attempts to financially exploit another member.
Impersonation and Misrepresentation
Members may not:
- Impersonate another person;
- Use another person’s photographs or identity;
- Falsely claim a military rank, unit, MOS, rate, service record, deployment history, or duty status;
- Misrepresent military affiliation or veteran status;
- Represent themselves as speaking for a military organization or government agency; or
- Create a profile that materially deceives other members about who they are.
Abuse
Sexual, physical, emotional, or psychological abuse is prohibited. This includes sexual coercion, non-consensual sexual conduct, threats of violence, intimidation, manipulation, and conduct intended to control, frighten, isolate, or harm another person.
Unsafe Conduct
Members may not engage in stalking, threats, doxxing, monitoring, coercive control, distribution of private information without consent, or conduct that creates a risk of real-world harm.
Members should not share classified, operational, or highly sensitive information through the Service. Members should also consider operational-security risks before sharing deployment information, unit details, duty schedules, base locations, uniform photographs, or other sensitive information.
Underage Users and Sexual Conduct Involving Minors
The Service is for adults 18 and older. Members may not use the Service to contact, solicit, groom, exploit, or engage in sexual conduct with anyone under 18.
Any suspected child sexual abuse material, online enticement, child sex trafficking, or sexual exploitation of a minor may be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (“NCMEC”) and law enforcement as required by law.
UCMJ or Criminal Misconduct
Members may not use the Service to facilitate conduct that violates applicable federal, state, or local law, the Uniform Code of Military Justice, service-branch rules, command policies, or other applicable military requirements.
BattleBuddies does not determine whether a particular act violates the UCMJ or a member’s military policies. Members are responsible for understanding and complying with the rules that apply to them.
Other Misconduct
Other prohibited conduct includes:
- Hate speech or dehumanizing content;
- Nudity or sexually explicit content;
- Graphic violence or gore;
- Spam or unsolicited promotions;
- Commercial solicitation or advertising;
- Escort or adult-service offers;
- Multi-level marketing pitches;
- Attempts to hack, scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Service;
- Collection or harvesting of another member’s personal data without consent; and
- Any other content or conduct that violates the Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, or applicable law.
4. Criminal Background Screenings (Colorado Disclosure)
BattleBuddies does NOT conduct criminal background screenings or criminal history checks on its members. We do not obtain, access, request, purchase, or review criminal history records for any member, applicant, or profile.
VerifyPass is the primary military-status verification method. The .mil route is secondary, optional, and available only for members who prefer it; it is never required to join. The .mil address is never stored, and no messages are ever sent to it. It confirms domain access only—not identity, rank, unit, component, or length of service. Verification confirms military status only and is not a guarantee of identity, safety, or anyone's exact rank, unit, or service history. It is NOT a criminal background check. It does NOT check criminal history. It does NOT check against sex offender registries. Verification is limited and is not a guarantee of any member’s identity, honesty, safety, or conduct.
Because no criminal background screening is performed, BattleBuddies does not exclude members on the basis of criminal convictions.
5. Identity and Military Verification
VerifyPass is BattleBuddies’ primary military-verification method. An optional secondary method is verification through a .mil email address.
VerifyPass
VerifyPass may provide BattleBuddies with a verification result or limited verification information needed to determine eligibility. BattleBuddies does not receive or store a member’s complete military or government personnel records.
Optional .mil Verification
The .mil option is optional. Members are not required to use a .mil address to join or use the Service.
A .mil check is a one-time domain-access confirmation only:
- The address is used solely to confirm access to a .mil domain;
- The .mil address is never stored;
- BattleBuddies retains only a dated “verified via .mil” status flag, as applicable;
- BattleBuddies does not send marketing, match notifications, account messages, transactional messages, or any other communications to a .mil address; and
- The member must confirm that the address belongs to them, that they are authorized to use it, and that they are responsible for following their service branch’s acceptable-use and email policies.
A .mil verification confirms access to a .mil domain only. It does not independently confirm:
- The member’s identity;
- Rank;
- Unit;
- Component;
- Length of service;
- Current duty status;
- Military occupation;
- Decorations; or
- Any other military-service claim.
Verification confirms military status only and is not a guarantee of identity, safety, or anyone's exact rank, unit, or service history.
Limits of Verification
Verification is limited, and no verification system is foolproof. A verification result or badge is not a guarantee of a member’s identity, honesty, safety, criminal history, rank, unit, service history, or conduct.
A “Pending” or self-report badge is not full verification. BattleBuddies may request additional proof of military eligibility at any time and may suspend or terminate an account if eligibility cannot be verified or appears to have been misrepresented.
6. FOSTA/SESTA and Commercial Sexual Activity
The Service may not be used for:
- Prostitution;
- Escorting;
- Commercial sexual services;
- Sexual solicitation;
- Paid sexual arrangements;
- Human trafficking;
- Commercial sexual exploitation;
- Promotion or facilitation of trafficking; or
- Any other commercial sexual activity.
Use of the Service for these purposes may result in immediate and permanent account termination without appeal. Where legally required or permitted, BattleBuddies may preserve and disclose relevant information to law enforcement and cooperate with investigations involving trafficking, exploitation, or commercial sexual activity.
Members should report suspected trafficking, prostitution, escorting, sexual solicitation, or commercial sexual activity through the in-app reporting tools or by contacting safety@battlebuddiesdating.com.
7. Reporting a Concern
Members may report a profile, photo, message, or other conduct that violates this policy.

- Open the profile or message at issue.
- Tap the menu, flag, or “Report” option.
- Select the reason that best describes the concern.
- Provide relevant details.
- Submit the report.
Email Reporting
For urgent matters, incidents requiring additional context, or situations involving screenshots or multiple messages, email:
- Safety reports: safety@battlebuddiesdating.com
- Appeals: appeals@battlebuddiesdating.com
- General support: support@battlebuddiesdating.com

Include, if available:
- The member’s profile URL, username, or account identifier;
- Dates and approximate times;
- The applicable messages or conduct;
- A description of why the conduct is unsafe or prohibited; and
- Unedited screenshots or other relevant evidence.
Do not alter screenshots or other evidence. Do not send classified, operational, or highly sensitive information unless it is necessary to report an immediate safety issue.
Do not use BattleBuddies as an emergency service. If someone faces immediate danger, call 911 or contact installation military police first. You may also report the matter to BattleBuddies when it is safe to do so.
8. How Reports Are Reviewed
Every report is reviewed by a human member of the trust and safety team, not solely by an automated system. Urgent safety reports are prioritized.
Our general process is:
- Acknowledgment: We acknowledge receipt of the report when reasonably practicable.
- Review: We review the report, relevant account information, and referenced content, typically within 24–48 hours. Urgent reports may be reviewed sooner.
- Action: If a violation is confirmed, we may remove content, issue a warning, restrict features, suspend the account, permanently terminate the account, or refer the matter to law enforcement or another appropriate authority.
- Notice of resolution: We generally notify the reporting member when the report has been resolved, subject to privacy, safety, legal, and investigative limitations.
- Confidentiality: We do not identify the reporting member to the reported member except where required by law or necessary to protect safety.
We may limit the information provided about an investigation or outcome to protect privacy, prevent retaliation, preserve evidence, or avoid interfering with a legal or law-enforcement investigation.
9. Emergency and High-Risk Reports
Reports involving imminent danger, credible threats, suspected CSAM, child exploitation, trafficking, or serious violence are escalated immediately.
Where required by law, suspected CSAM and other reportable child-exploitation matters are reported to NCMEC’s CyberTipline and appropriate law-enforcement authorities. Reports may be submitted through:
BattleBuddies may also preserve relevant account information, messages, reports, and other records as required by law or reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, or an investigation.
For an immediate emergency, call 911 or contact installation military police. BattleBuddies cannot dispatch emergency personnel or provide emergency intervention.
10. UCMJ and Law-Enforcement Cooperation
BattleBuddies does not proactively investigate or police every allegation of “conduct unbecoming,” UCMJ violations, or military-policy violations. We also do not make legal determinations about whether a particular relationship or conduct violates the UCMJ.
We will cooperate with lawful requests from appropriate Department of Defense, military, and civilian investigative authorities. We will report conduct where reporting is legally required or permitted, including when necessary to protect users, the public, or the Service.
Relevant authorities may include:
- Army Criminal Investigation Division (“CID”);
- Naval Criminal Investigative Service (“NCIS”);
- Air Force Office of Special Investigations (“OSI”);
- Coast Guard Investigative Service (“CGIS”);
- National Guard Bureau and applicable state National Guard investigative authorities;
- Judge Advocate General (“JAG”) offices;
- Military police; and
- Appropriate federal, state, or local law-enforcement agencies.
Where legally required or permitted, BattleBuddies may preserve and provide relevant records, communications, account information, and other evidence in response to a lawful request, subpoena, court order, warrant, or other valid legal process.
11. Suspension and Account Termination
Depending on the seriousness, circumstances, and history of a violation, BattleBuddies may:
- Remove or restrict content;
- Issue a warning;
- Restrict messaging or other features;
- Temporarily suspend an account;
- Permanently terminate an account;
- Prevent the creation of a new account; or
- Refer conduct to law enforcement or another appropriate authority.
Serious or zero-tolerance violations may result in immediate permanent termination. These may include:
- Credible threats of violence;
- Sexual exploitation or abuse;
- CSAM or conduct involving minors;
- Human trafficking or commercial sexual activity;
- Financial fraud or romance scams;
- Military impersonation or material service misrepresentation;
- Doxxing or stalking;
- Severe harassment; and
- Other conduct creating a serious risk of harm.
To the extent permitted by law and consistent with safety and investigative needs, members will be notified of the reason for a suspension or ban.
Permanently banned members may not create new accounts. Circumventing a suspension or ban through a new email address, device, identity, or account may result in immediate re-ban and additional action.
12. Appeals
A member may appeal an account action by emailing appeals@battlebuddiesdating.com within 30 days of the action.
The appeal should include:
- The email address associated with the account;
- The date and type of account action, if known;
- A description of the member’s position; and
- Any information the member wants us to consider.
We review appeals, but we cannot guarantee reinstatement. We may deny an appeal when the account action was appropriate, when the member presents a continuing safety risk, or when disclosure of additional information would compromise privacy, safety, or an investigation.
The following are generally not eligible for appeal:
- Military impersonation;
- Financial fraud;
- CSAM or child exploitation;
- Human trafficking;
- Commercial sexual activity; and
- Other zero-tolerance violations.
13. Notice and Confidentiality
Reports are handled as confidentially as reasonably practicable. The reported member will not ordinarily be told who submitted a report.
However, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in every circumstance. Information may be disclosed when necessary to:
- Protect a person from harm;
- Comply with law or legal process;
- Respond to lawful requests from investigators;
- Report suspected CSAM or child exploitation;
- Investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
- Enforce the Terms & Conditions; or
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of 13 Foxtrot, LLC, members, or the public.
Members who file reports should understand that account action, legal process, or the circumstances of an incident may allow a reported member to infer who submitted the report.
14. Retaliation and False Reports
Retaliation against a member who makes a good-faith safety report is prohibited. Retaliation may result in immediate suspension or termination.
Members must not knowingly submit false, malicious, or intentionally misleading reports. A member may report conduct in good faith even if the report cannot ultimately be substantiated. Knowingly abusive or fraudulent reporting may result in account action.
