Verification runs through VerifyPass, a trusted military authentication service. It confirms military status only before you can match.

The .mil email is a secondary, optional route for members who prefer it and is never required to join. It confirms domain access only—not identity, rank, unit, component, or length of service. The .mil address is never stored, and no messages are ever sent to it. Verification confirms military status only and is not a guarantee of identity, safety, or anyone's exact rank, unit, or service history.

Before verifying with a .mil address, members must tick a box confirming the address is their own, that they are authorized to use it, and that they are responsible for complying with their service branch's acceptable-use and email policies.

How .mil verification works

One-time check. We confirm access to a .mil domain once, then discard the address.

We don't keep it. Your .mil address is never stored — we keep only a 'verified via .mil' flag with the date.

We never email you there. No marketing, no match notifications, no account emails, no digests are ever sent to a .mil address.

What it proves. .mil verification confirms domain access only — not your identity, rank, unit, component, or length of service.

Who can join?+

BattleBuddies is for active duty service members, Reservists, National Guard members, and veterans. Members are checked through VerifyPass or a .mil email before they can match.

Is my location tracked?+

No. You enter a city, state, or zip code yourself. BattleBuddies does not use GPS, live location tracking, or geofencing.

Can civilians join?+

No. BattleBuddies is military-exclusive. Civilians and family members cannot create matching profiles.

How much does it cost?+

Free to join — Premium from $24.99/month. Premium+ is $34.99/month. Premium and Premium+ include a 3-day free trial, and you can cancel anytime.

Eligibility

BattleBuddies is for adults 18+ who are U.S. residents (age 18+) and are Active Duty service members, Reservists, National Guard members, or Veterans. Civilians and immediate family members are not eligible.
